Kathryn Bernardo looked stunning in a modern terno as she hosted the 15th Gawad Geny Lopez Bayaning Pilipino Awards last night, July 3.
Together with her stylist Jan Aranilla, Kath collaborated on this piece with local designer Steph Tan. The idea was to put a more "ethnic twist" to the terno by making use of indigenous weaves.
The result was a cropped terno top with butterfly sleeves featuring woven accents and a flattering sweetheart neckline. She also wore a feather-trimmed necklace sourced by Jan from the Habi Fair, a local pop-up event highlighting Filipino-made goods. Kath's woven skirt, on the other hand, featured a leg-lengthening striped pattern, which opens up to a thigh high slit. It also comes with a subtle ruffle on the side, adding volume to the skirt.
Kath shares on Instagram that she's "always been a fan of local textile and it’s been a wonderful experience finally being able to incorporate Filipino weaves into my look."
Kath's glam team took the look up a notch with makeup artist Justine Del Rosario giving Kath a vampy lip that underlined the rich red hues of her outfit. Meanwhile, hairstylist Chris Rodil turned the actress' messy bun into a unique 'do by weaving a woven fabric into her hair. He also parted Kath's slightly wavy bangs in the middle, framing her face well. So chic!
