Fashion designer Jojie Lloren has announced that a number of his creations will be part of Gavel&Block’s benefit auction happening this May 23, 2020.
Gavel&Block is a subsidiary of Salcedo Auctions that focuses on contemporary art and design. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the auction house has mounted a fundraising online auction in support of non-profit organization Rise Against Hunger PH (formerly Stop Hunger Now Philippines).
The organization’s mission is “to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world’s most vulnerable and by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.” Proceeds will fund the organization’s ongoing feeding programs for communities that have been affected by the quarantine.
For those who are interested in joining, there are two ways to participate: 1) online bidders can register at salcedoauctions.com; 2) absentee bidders can download forms from their website and submit to firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration starts May 15, 2020.
For those who are interested in donating pieces, kindly email email@example.com.
Jojie Lloren’s participation in the auction is just one example of local fashion designers extending help to those greatly affected by the pandemic. A number of designers have created or helped produce personal protective equipment (PPEs) due to an overwhelming shortage in many hospitals.
