Swimsuit meets evening gown? Janine Gutierrez makes a case for the unexpected combination in this striking noir ensemble.

Styled by Jetrho Barrieta of Stylized Studio, the actress joined this year’s panel of judges for the annual Binibining Pilipinas pageant wearing a creation by Filipina designer Joann Bitagcol. At its center was a black strapless corset top, worn with a sheer sarong-style skirt that wrapped around her hips and fell into a dramatic, floor-skimming train.

The skirt is easily the look’s standout. Rather than a traditional evening gown, the sheer piece leaves Janine’s leg exposed through a high slit, while its asymmetric draping gives the silhouette its effortless feel.

The dark, gauzy fabric is finished with painterly, textured details, adding visual interest to the otherwise all-black ensemble. As it gathers around the waist and trails behind her, it creates just enough volume to balance the sleekness of the corset top.
