The rustic vibes are off the charts.

Celebrities everywhere have been trying out new things, from hobbies, haircuts, to bold new OOTDs. One celebrity who seemingly had a “transformation” over the quarantine period is James Reid, who's currently trending on social media after finally making his first public appearance in a while. And TBH, we were quite surprised with his new look. But as unexpected as this was, we’re welcoming it with open arms!

The actor was seen earlier today in Nueva Ecija for an event hosted by the Department of Agriculture. He was made the department’s ambassador for Food Security last May.

The 27-year-old actor was spotted planting and soaking up the sun in a beige linen button-down, a tan fedora hat, and army green trousers, not to mention blonde hair! If we were to describe his new aesthetic, we’d probably go with “bucolic chic”—very befitting his role.

It’s a big change from his previous edgy streetwear look, much more from his early days as the boy next door. But his fans will definitely agree that any James Reid phase is an awesome one.

In fact, fans were quick to storm social media, gushing about how “pogi” and “gwapo” James Reid was during the outing. There were plenty of times they called him a “farmer,” too. A good-looking farmer, to be exact.

One Twitter observed that this exact fashion combo is James’ go-to look for Department of Agriculture events. He called it his “template,” and we can’t blame him. Linen tops are always so fresh, and they literally keep you cool!

Aside from his outfit, people couldn’t help but comment on his wavy blonde locks, which appear to be of an ombre style. “James’ hair is kinda nice though,” one netizen said. Another even tagged her friend, saying, “This is the sign to dye the ends of your hair.”

During the event, James was able to meet many of the locals, and one woman who was able to snap a few photos was Marichu Etchalar, who “can’t get over” his appearance. Many netizens also expressed their jealousy over those who got to meet him in the flesh, according to the bevy of comments on Instagram posts.

Aside from James’ work as a Department of Agriculture ambassador, it is also known that he set up his own urban farming company called “The Freshest,” which aims to promote farming to the younger generation.

We’re still absorbing all the details of James’ new look, but given his passion for sustainability and his current endeavors, we guess this was only a matter of time. Style is a reflection of who you are, after all!
