Iza Calzado just officially became Mrs. Wintle! The two tied the knot in a beach ceremony at the picturesque Club Paradise in Coron, Palawan. They were surrounded by close friends and family. Iza walked down the sandy aisle clad in a gorgeous Rajo Laurel creation.
It only made sense that Iza wore a Rajo wedding frock as the two have shared a remarkable friendship throughout the years. Iza has long been Rajo's muse and has worn several of his pieces before. Thus, with much shared history, the two whipped up Iza's dream wedding dress. "The collaboration began with her desire to have a dress with a romantic beach vibe and began about eight months ago," Rajo tells Preview.
And so this became the inspiration for Iza's wedding gown. Rajo shares that the lace used for the bride's gown was made for Iza by the French maison Sophie Hallette, a fashion house with over 130 years of experience in making lace and tulle. Rajo says that the gown features a cordonnet, "a special type of chantilly lace that takes several months to make."
Iza's all-lace, wrap-around gown features a deep V-neck and a thigh-high slit with a scallop-trimmed hem. The overall look was romantic and elegant, beautifully accentuated by the aftenoon's golden sun. Iza opted to go with a strappy pair of Stuart Weitzman heels to walk down the aisle in and carried a fresh floral bouquet (with a locket containing photos of Iza's parents) made by Gideon Hermosa.
Iza also accessorized with an intricate hair piece made by her hairstylist Celeste Tuviera that accented her half-braided hair and long delicate veil.
Prior to the ceremony, Iza got ready in a similar-looking lace robe.
The groom, Ben Wintle, waited for the bride at the end of a flower-laden pathway in a khaki suit and vowed to spend their lives together with a pair of Jul B. Dizon rings.
Congratulations, Iza and Ben!
