The EMI Gala, a Dubai-based award-giving body in the beauty and fashion industry, has just announced this year’s roster of honorees. Among them is Filipina style icon and actress Heart Evangelista, who is set to receive the Global Fashion Influencer of the Year award for 2025. Last year, the same title was awarded to her fellow Filipina fashion week fixture, Pia Wurtzbach.

The EMI Gala Names Heart Evangelista as Its Global Fashion Influence of the Year for 2025
On Monday, April 14, the EMI Gala made the announcement via an Instagram post. “International Fashion Influencer & Entrepreneur Heart Evangelista @iamhearte is this year’s recipient of the Global Fashion Influencer of the Year Award…” the awards ceremony’s brand page wrote in the caption.
Over the years, the EMI Gala has recognized several Filipino luminaries who have made strides in the global fashion scene. In 2021, Michael Cinco was named Fashion Designer of the Year, one of the event’s highest honors. That same year, Cebuano designer Furne Amato took home both the International Fashion Designer of the Year and Fashion Innovator awards. Most recently, in 2024, Pia Wurtzbach was named Global Fashion Influencer of the Year.
Dubbed “Fashion and Beauty’s Biggest Night” in Dubai, the EMI Gala brings together kep personalities in the industry from across the globe. This year’s ceremony, now on its fifth run, will take place at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers—just across from the city’s iconic Museum of the Future—from April 22 to 23. Heart Evangelista, along with other global personalities, is expected to fly out to the City of Gold to grace the event.
