Rooted in heritage and designed for everyday life, Gucci’s newest handbag is already showing up on fashion’s most influential dressers.

Introduced in Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, it doesn’t try to be flashy. Instead, it focuses on what Gucci does best: strong proportions, thoughtful design, and heritage details like the Horsebit hardware, a symbol the Italian luxury fashion house has used since the 1940s.

Meet the Gucci Borsetto Bag

The Borsetto is Gucci’s modern take on the House's Boston bag—a structured, rectangular silhouette originally designed for travel, now refined for everyday use.

Its name combines borsa (Italian for bag) and morsetto (horsebit), directly referencing the hardware that defines the design.

The Horsebit, as many know, is one of Gucci’s oldest signatures, originally inspired by equestrian gear and used by the House for decades. On the Borsetto, that detail becomes the focal point, anchoring the bag in Gucci’s history while keeping the overall look clean and current.

The rest of the design is intentionally straightforward. It comes in soft leather, suede, and GG canvas, with top handles and a detachable strap so it can be carried multiple ways. The size is practical—large enough to hold daily essentials, but still streamlined.

Prices start at $3,100 (approximately P173,000) for the medium size, while the large versions range from $3,100 to $3,450 (approximately P173,000 to P193,000) depending on the material, from GG canvas to smooth leather and suede. Positioned within Gucci’s core handbag lineup, the Borsetto reflects the House’s focus on pieces designed for everyday use—bags grounded in heritage, but built for how people actually dress in real life.

How Style Stars Are Wearing the Gucci Borsetto

Perhaps the fastest way to understand a bag’s relevance is to see who’s using it in real life.

Italian model Vittoria Ceretti carried the black leather Borsetto while arriving at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Milan, pairing it with a fur coat and relaxed denim. Meanwhile, Alex Consani styled hers more casually in New York, wearing it with loose jeans and a khaki jacket and seemingly treating it as part of an everyday uniform.

Asian stars Song Wei Long and Zhang Linghe have also been spotted carrying the bag, showing how naturally it works across different wardrobes—including menswear.

Where to Shop Gucci in the Philippines

The Gucci Borsetto is now available at Gucci boutiques in the Philippines, including its flagship stores at Greenbelt 4 in Makati and Solaire Resort in Parañaque, as well as through the brand’s official website.

For Philippine availability and exact pricing, interested buyers are best advised to inquire directly in-store, where clients can also view the full range and experience the pieces' craftsmanship up close.
