Grace Coddington Steps Down as Creative Director of Vogue

Grace Coddington Steps Down as Creative Director of Vogue But wait, there’s a major twist!

As major movements continue to reshape the face of the fashion industry, another major bomb was dropped yesterday by Business of Fashion, revealing that Grace Coddington, Vogue’s creative director, is stepping down from her post after nearly three decades of service to the magazine.

However, this doesn’t exactly mean the end of the 73-year-old’s influence in the magazine as she will still remain to be a key asset by assuming an at-large position. This means, Grace will be now permitted to work on other projects—one of which includes an upcoming fragrance with Comme des Garçons. Grace tells BOF “really love Vogue, it’s been in my life always, they discovered me as a model at 19.”

She adds:

“I’m not running away from Vogue, because it has opened so many doors. But it will be nice to collaborate, and nice to go out [and] give talks to people. It’s just another approach. I’m certainly not going into retirement. I don’t want to sit around.”

Phew! For a second there we actually thought she was out of the magazine for good! Congratulations, Grace!
