In case you missed it, the local adaptation of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay is already streaming on Netflix. And just within the first few episodes, protagonist Mia Hernandez (played by Anne Curtis) is already making style statements left and right.
Notably, in the pilot, netizens were quick to notice Anne’s striking pair of heels. On Facebook, a post by K-drama page Saranghaeyo Oppa quickly made the rounds, noting the hefty price tag that came with the avant-garde shoes. “Inapakan ba naman pagiging hampas lupa natin,” they humorously quipped.

The exact shoes are in fact from Parisian couture house Schiaparelli. Named the Trompe L’Oeil Mules, the design features a black satin upper adorned with a gleaming brass toe cap— one of the Maison's signature, surrealist motifs. The mule silhouette also includes an open back and a four-inch kitten heel.
In the scene, Anne wears the sculptural pair with an all-black number: a tailored tweed blazer, a flowing sheer skirt, a Lady Dior handbag, and a pair of gold drop earrings from Tiffany & Co.

First unveiled on the Spring 2024 ready-to-wear runway show in Paris, the shoes were created under the direction of American designer Daniel Roseberry. This particular design reimagines Schiaparelli’s classic high-top sneaker featuring the same trompe-l’oeil toe. Similarly, this shoe has added details like a measuring tape motif along the sole and a sculpted footprint on the bottom.

About Schiaparelli
Founded by Elsa Schiaparelli in 1927, the French label remains a vanguard of fashion’s surrealist and avant-garde tradition. The house is known for integrating imaginative elements into its pieces, from anatomical embellishments to insect-inspired motifs. Whether in the realm of couture or ready-to-wear, creative director Daniel Roseberry continues Schiaparelli's heritage of opulence and eccentricity to this day.
