Filipinos embody a wide range of qualities—some with an easy warmth, others with a cooler edge. Beyond these differences, it’s the shared identity that ties us together.

This was Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin’s interpretation of “homegrown,” the theme that the Preview Ball 2025 was centered on. The pair, styled by Jro Alarcio, arrived at the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport World Resorts in a striking noir ensemble that brought a classic yet different take on the motif.

“Francine embraced the idea of being simple yet elevated,” Jro shared, saying that the overall look was “sophisticated without losing the quiet grace that defines her.” Designed by Mark Bumgarner, the strapless gown was made more special by the subtle yet intentional details that adorned it. Specifically, it was the “delicate draping and precise tailoring that accentuated her waistline, allowing her natural elegance and poise to shine.” It was not the kind of dress that was merely made and worn; instead, it was one that mirrored the star’s personality.

Completing the look were sparkling jewelry by Miladay Jewels, with choices that were also kept minimal. Jro summarized the overall look by saying it was “refined, graceful, and effortlessly timeless,” just like Francine.

Contrasting this and complementing it at the same time, Seth Fedelin looked dashing in a cropped suit by Fatima Beltran. The modern reimagination of classic menswear was manifested in a fresh and youthful manner. “The silhouette was sharp yet contemporary, elevated by intricate beaded detailing along the shoulders that introduced texture and depth without overpowering the look,” Jro tells Preview.

These small attributes left a significant impact. As Jro described, Seth’s outfit for the night embodied “an understated sense of craftsmanship and refinement.” The couple’s look mirrored a sentiment that remains consistent from their bond to their sartorial choices.

With classic hair and makeup by Kevin Christian and Toni Aviles, respectively, the duo brought a cinematic touch to their first Preview Ball. They used the occasion to highlight local talent, honor Filipino brands and designers, and stay grounded in their roots and heritage.

Both strong on their own, Francine and Seth side by side created a sense of harmony. “Their ensembles were not only complementary in color and design but also in spirit: two different interpretations of modern Filipino fashion—one soft and statuesque, the other sharp and dynamic—meeting in perfect balance.”
