Where Do Petite Girls Shop for Perfect-Fitting Pants?

Marj Ramos-Clemente, Preview Editor-in-Chief

"For petite girls, finding a pair of jeans that fits perfectly—without the need for alterations—can feel impossible. A recent discovery was Uniqlo’s Jersey Barrel Leg Pants, which I loved so much I bought them in multiple colors. I’ve been into the barrel silhouette lately because it's comfy and effortless. It doesn't make me look shorter either, or like I'm drowning in fabric."

Bianca Villena, Graphic Designer

"I like my jeans quite fitted around my waist, baggy around my shin, and long enough to cover my ankles. H&M has jeans that hug my waistline just right and go long enough to rest over my sneakers.

"Lately, however, I’ve been obsessed with my Uniqlo x JWA jeans! They feel so light to wear! They have big pockets also, which I think is rare for women’s pants."

"Unfortunately, I haven't found [pants in] perfect length. I usually get from Uniqlo, but I still get them altered! Unless it's Uniqlo Kids—the length [from] the kids' section is pretty good!"

Ava Briones, Assistant Finance Manager

"It’s always a bit of a struggle finding jeans that fit just right for my body type. They either fit well at the waist but are too long, or the length is right but the waist area is too loose. I usually end up at Uniqlo or Love, Bonito since their cuts are more flattering on me. And if I ever need to tweak the length a bit, Uniqlo's free alteration service is such a lifesaver."

Franze Santiago, Student

“Being shorter [than] the average Filipina, I try to be creative when looking for jeans that fit me. I’d usually go to Gap or Mango and find a pair of supposedly capri pants, but on me, they look like regular jeans. Otherwise, if I couldn’t find a pair that fits me well in stores, I’d have my pants tailored.”

Xyriel Manabat, Actress

"I get most of my jeans from thrift and live-sellings, pero 'pag may nag [reregalo], effect din yung mga gifts nila from H&M, Girl Almighty, and Paradoxical."
