In case you missed it, Drew Barrymore has made her way back to the Philippines and even walked the red carpet at SM Megamall last night. The Hollywood actress and her Santa Clarita Diet co-star Timothy Olyphant were in Manila for the premiere night of the aforementioned Netflix series’ second season. And as expected, Drew showed up dressed to the nines—she was clad in a long-sleeved silk LBD that was nicely cinched at the waist, teamed with Chanel’s runway-edition Votez Coco clutch and a pair of black platform stilettos. But arguably the real hero of her OOTN? Her statement earrings made by a Filipino designer!

Stunning, right? Drew was wearing Ken Samudio’s Fleur Earrings in Blanc, and the story of how she got them is almost as aww-worthy as her premiere night look.
A few hours before Drew's red carpet appearance, the Hollywood star guested on GMA’s 24 Oras for Lyn Ching’s Chika Minute segment, in which the host was wearing the same pair of white fleur earrings (FYI, they're a certified celebrity favorite, too!). Towards the end of the clip, Drew tells Lyn, “I am desperate for [your] earrings!” Of course, being a huge fan of the actress, Lyn immediately took them off and gave them to her as a gift.

Too adorable! And as we're all quite aware already, Drew wore them right away to complete her red carpet look that night—a smart choice, if we might add. Not only did the earrings give her otherwise all-black outfit a welcome contrast, the cute story behind it also makes her Filipino fans (us included!) love her even more.
But wait, there's more—as it turns out, Drew left Manila with not just one but two pairs of Ken Samudio earrings! Apart from the white fleur earrings she wore to the premiere night, the Santa Clarita Diet star also received a pair of seahorse mother of pearl statement earrings from ABS-CBN host Marie Lozano. Also from Ken's diffusion line Matthew and Melka, the earrings caught Drew's attention while Marie was interviewing her for a news segment without even knowing they were made by the same designer. Like Lyn, the host didn't hesitate to take them off and immediately offered them to Drew as her present.
We're calling it—Drew Barrymore has officially joined the long list of celebrities who are obsessed with Ken Samudio's unique accessories! Can't wait to see what she'll wear them with.
