Dolly de Leon is all dolled up for the history books! The Filipina thespian broke ground at this year’s Golden Globes as a Best Supporting Actress nominee, garbed in an equally showstopping ensemble made by a proudly Pinoy designer.
Stepping foot on the 80th Golden Globe Awards red carpet at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California on January 11 (Philippine time), the 53-year-old Triangle of Sadness actress went on an all-leather route for the momentous occasion. Backed by a Filipino fashion team, New York-based stylist LJ Perez clad the critically acclaimed star in a custom floor-length piece from AZ Factory’s Norman Rene De Vera.
The body-hugging creation is one take on leather dressing with a unique spin, as it fuses off-shoulder and tulle straps for its neckline. Dolly’s accessories of the night were a matching pair of gloves, which the actress slipped underneath two gleaming rings.
Sleek was the motif with the leather look, highlighted by her slicked back wet tresses styled by Hollywood hairstylist Gui. Meanwhile, makeup artist Kelly Goldstar went for an edgy yet subtly glossed air with silver-toned lids and a smoky palette.

While the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture award eventually went to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s Angela Bassett, Dolly’s Golden Globes nomination marks a first for Filipino actors.
Congrats, Dolly!
