In celebration of Mickey Mouse's 90th anniversary, Disney partnered with SoFA Design Institute to launch a fashion design challenge honoring the iconic character. Ten of the school's up-and-coming designers were tasked to create a Mickey-inspired line, showcasing their love for the mouse well-known by millions around the world.
The fashion show was held last November 21 at the Ayala Triangle Gardens where the winners of the challenge were announced after. Bagging the Grand Prize was 21-year-old Farah Zavala, whose designs paid tribute to the Mickey Mouse Marching Band, as well as the short films The Nifty Nineties and The Simple Things. Designers Carla Zhang and Candle Ray were announced first and second runners up, respectively.
