It’s one thing to pass by a famous celebrity on the street, but it’s a whole different kind of luck when they spontaneously decide to give you a cherished item of theirs. Then again, it seems anything’s possible when you meet idol-turned-actress Hyeri on a normal day. Proof? One lucky person had a random run-in with the Reply 1988 star and, before she knew it, she was suddenly one bag richer.

Hyeri gives away her favorite bag to a stranger

In her latest Youtube vlog where she shows off her walk-in closet filled with designer must-haves, the K-drama leading lady shared an unexpected anecdote from her last trip to New York City.

According to the actress, she went into a Stussy store and met a cashier who complimented her bag, which she carried around frequently and considered to be her favorite. In a surprising move, Hyeri offered the woman her beloved arm candy—the Fluff Small in Ivory by Korean brand Raive.

Suffice to say, even her staff couldn’t believe her story. When they asked her why she’d given away her go-to bag, Hyeri replied, “It just seemed like it would suit her well, because she was really hip. It seemed like it would look better if she carried it instead of with my outfit that day.”

Hyeri added that the woman was hesitant at first but eventually took it with open arms after she insisted that it was more than okay. What luck! We've concluded that this might just be our dream celebrity encounter from now on.

Now that her favorite bag is off somewhere in New York, the title has been transferred to her Bottega Veneta Hop bag. You can find the actress sporting the trendy hobo tote on her Instagram photos as she loves wearing it on her travels. “It surprisingly goes with everything,” she said in the same vlog.
