Looking to finally make that investment?

This one's for the dainty girls out there. There's just something sooo inexplicably charming about a top handle bag, especially when it's dangling from your palm or resting prettily on the crook of your arm—it's prim, proper, and reminiscent of royals who simply can't afford to have the shoulders of their perfectly pressed tweed jackets creased by the weight of a purse. All you need now are the white kid gloves! Below, scroll to learn more about four hand-held numbers that'll never, ever age badly. We're talking potential lifetime investments, so listen up.

1. Chanel Coco Handle

There's no denying its complete and total versatility: Chanel's Classic Flap is for literally everyone. That's a solid declaration that honestly needs zero further explanation. Ask every chick—from the demure, ladylike Heart Evangelista to headbangin' heavy metal queen Arci Muñoz to real-life crowned queen Pia Wurtzbach—and they all own it. It's the investment piece of dreams, arguably the only designer bag to really put your money on should you be forced (god forbid!) to choose just one. Whether you agree or not, you've gotta admit that those are some intimidatingly massive shoes to fill. That said, we're placing our confident bets on the Coco Handle, born in Fall-Winter 2015, as a little sister worthy of earning the same ageless fame.

2. Dior Lady Dior

Here's a fun fact about one of Kathryn Bernardo's newest babies (in case you didn't know, she very recently took it for a posh spin 'round Rome, Italy)! Dior's dainty Lady Dior was originally unofficially named the Chouchou. That moniker clearly didn't stick around for long, because it was Princess Diana's undying devotion to it that really cemented its place in the scene, regally bestowing upon it the momentum that has successfully pulled it through the decades' changing tides. It was 1995, and France's then-First Lady Bernadette Chirac gifted the visiting Diana the petite black bag, adorned with charms spelling out the label's signature, at the Paul Cezanne art exhibition in Paris. It was only the beginning of perhaps her most memorable love affair. In 1996, Dior lovingly rechristened it the Lady Dior. Instantly beloved by women whose adoration for the People's Princess, as Di was fondly dubbed, knew no bounds, it sold over 200,000 units in the next two years. There's no stopping this charmer—it's emerged victorious in the face of fashion's countless drastic evolutions. A royal flush!

3. Gucci Sylvie

We've been smitten with the Gucci Sylvie ever since mastermind Alessandro Michele sent it down the Milanese house's Spring-Summer 2016 catwalk in September 2015. Boasting of telltale Web striping and a chain detail streaked down its middle sans any of the brand's often-associated interlocking Gs, Sylvie feels old and new all at once...and it's beyond refreshing. It's structured and ladylike, but our favorite feature has got to be its interchangeable straps: You've got the usual chain option and a bi- or tri-color grosgrain ribbon that's yours to loop around, double up, or simply tie any which way you please. Be spoilt for choice.

4. Louis Vuitton Capucines

As people who've spent a considerable amount of time lusting after Louis Vuitton baby's itty-bitty version, you can take this tip from us. Mini bags—and fiendishly collecting them like miniature trophies on a shelf—are a guilty pleasure of ours. What can you fit in a purse small enough to slide under a microscope, really? Not much, but don't think that'd stop us. They're like fiddlesome charms on a bracelet: tiny, dangly, and often in the way of (shudder) practicality...which is why the Capucines isn't exactly the bag that comes to mind when plotting your next petite purchase. Often marketed as a smart, sensible, structured work companion sporting only a relatively subtle logo clasp, even its BB size, the third after two bigger options, is pretty practical and roomy.

Here's the news! First appearing on the LV runway in July 2013, this modern classic's latest, delightfully itsy-bitsy measurements help mark its 6th anniversary in the biz. Meet the Capucines Mini, first dropped in 2019. All eyes on this pint-sized prize. It's a popular piece to customize into an ultra-luxe crocodile leather version, by the way, and is available on our shores in both the Greenbelt 4 and Solaire boutiques!
