Syne's founder, Patty Baligod, is making a case for bedtime luxury.

Silk is a fabric that speaks of sophistication and luxury, which is most often used for slip dresses and gowns. But who's to say you can't bring the same luxe vibe when you sleep? Local designer Patty Baligod assures that you can elevate your beauty rest by wearing silk intimates. As a champion of silk herself, her brand Syne Label is a believer that this fabric can be worn just about anywhere and everywhere.

Below, we get to know more about the brand and their newest silk pajama collection.

How would you describe your design aesthetic and philosophy?

"Our brand's trademark is silk wear and we have always envisioned our designs to be timeless, straight-forward, and effortless with a touch of sultriness. We believe that less is more, especially with silk. You don't need to try so hard because it's beautiful as it is."

Do you have a signature design or key element evident through your collections?

"Our signature design is our draped turtle neckline and our perfectly draped cowl necks. We make sure we measure and drape it exactly where it falls right on the body of each girl so it's perfect for them."

Where do you usually draw inspiration from?

"I make sure I look through fashion magazines, new trends, runway shows, and I also travel. But it's a different story in custom or made-to-order pieces. You have to be able to understand your client's taste, her body, and what will fit her best. It's always a collaboration between me and my clients."

Can you walk us through your creative process as you design clothes?

"Clients can make an appointment through our social media accounts or email. We meet them at our studio located at Morgan Residences for a design appointment. From there, I collaborate with my team of sewers and patternmakers to make the dress before it goes through quality check such as trimming, sizing, etc."

What makes a Syne muse?

"A Syne muse is confident. She's sure of what she wants and knows exactly how to get them. She is sexy without showing skin. She takes importance in quality work, and she wants quality designs and pieces that will last a lifetime."

Who do you dream of wearing your designs?

"Rosie Huntington-Whitely is our forever muse because she's always in silk! She genuinely loves wearing the fabric. She's a business woman, a mom, a wife, a model. She's our muse."

How has your brand evolved since you started?

"We started as a ready-to-wear brand. We unveiled a 20-piece collection when first launched. Now, we have evolved from just RTW to made-to-order. We also specialize in silk eveningwear. Syne has a growing bridal and bridal entourage clients from all over the world! We have an upcoming wedding at Mexico and Australia this year and it still amazes me how they found out about the brand—social media makes everything possible! And we've just launched our sleepwear line at Lanai. It's growing so fast and we are excited for what is to come!"

Syne is known for its silk ready-to-wear and custom pieces. What made you want to venture into lounge wear?

"So many clients are requesting! Since we specialize in silk, might as well do it as well in sleepwear! Silk intimates are so timeless. Also, it was perfect because Lanai wanted a sleepwear collection from us and so it only made sense that our second collaboration with them would be this."

What sets your sleepwear line apart from the rest?

"Our family business is logistics so we do a lot of importing and exporting. It worked in my favor because I get to import all of our premium silks. That makes it very personal for the brand. We get to contact our direct suppliers, choose finishes, texture, and colors. For the sleepwear line, we made use of silky and matte finish premium silks.

"And not only do we make the most of the material, the workmanship is also exceptional. We had a whole lot of a different process, longer, and definitely more detailed. The designs are classic and timeless. So when you purchase, I'm sure you'll get to use it for a long time!"
