Structured suiting has proven itself timeless, a silhouette that has transcended decades with its clean lines and tailored form. Yet what keeps it relevant today is the subtle art of tonal dressing—layering shades within the same palette for added depth and texture. This approach tempers the formality of traditional suiting, lending it softness while heightening its sophistication.
At the premiere of her son Andres Muhlach’s film Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para kay Luna, a rom-com that co-stars his onscreen partner Ashtine Olviga, Charlene Gonzalez embodied this balance with an ensemble that was pared back yet striking in its precision. Styled by Leanne Ledesma of Qurator Studio, the ensemble was rooted in tonal dressing, favoring shades of deep earth and muted neutrals that created a cohesive silhouette.

Charlene wore a high-neck top in an olive-taupe hue, cinched by a black leather belt and tucked into wide-leg trousers in a complementary shade, the fluid drape of the pants balancing the top’s clean lines. Over it, she layered a chocolate brown leather jacket with a softened sheen. The cropped cut tastefully elongated her silhouette, an apparent nod to '80s tailoring.

“I was thinking of tonal dressing with sharp tailoring to reflect a modern retro vibe for Charlene, but still staying true to her roots of quiet [minimalism] and sophistication,” Leanne told Preview. “We played it with earthy tones and textures to highlight that balance of structure and ease, keeping it refined yet current.”
Makeup by Robbie Pinera highlighted a natural complexion with softly defined eyes and a muted lip, while Brent Sales styled her sleek bob into a polished frame that accentuated her oversized glasses—the perfect finishing touch to her sleek ensemble.

Pau is Preview’s go-to fashion girl. On most days, you’ll find her with headphones on, coffee in hand, and likely dressed in an oversized blazer and floor-grazing jeans.
