Catriona Gray is no stranger to the Miss Universe circuit. Aside from bringing home the coveted crown in 2018, she has also been making the rounds in national franchises around the world as a judge and host. Needless to say, she remains as poised and stunning as when she first introduced her signature Lava Walk and her serving as the Miss Universe 2022 Backstage Host is proof.
Catriona was the epitome of radiance as she took on commentating duties together with American TV personality Zuri Hall. She opened the show clad in a yellow asymmetric gown by Julianne Syjuco as styled by Myrrh Lao To, and we can't think of a better look to start with. The glamorous high-slit frock was embellished with delicate leaf details and had a caped skirt that added to its wow factor.
"We wanted Catriona to just be the bright ray of sunshine that she is," Myrrh told Preview. This first outfit was then completed with elegant jewelry from JJ Jiao.
For the second half, she changed into an aqua blue fully-sequined Jaggy Glarino cut out gown that showcased her toned midriff as styled by Justine Aliman. It was the perfect balance of sleek and dainty, and Cat looked absolutely eye-catching.
"The inspiration of the outfit is classy [and] elegant red carpet chic," Justine further expounded. They wanted Catriona to stand out, and they totally achieved that with this sultry yet refined ensemble.
Catriona's handler Liz Alvarez shared to Preview that her looks were "a collaborative work amongst her team." She shared that Cat let her stylists present the pegs based on what they and the designers think would work best, and from there, they decided on the final looks.
She kept her beauty look fresh and clean by going for a more neutral palette. Did you know? Catriona did her own makeup for the pageant! Liz confirmed that once again, the 29-year-old painted her own face with the virtual guidance of her friend and go-to Jelly Eugenio. Her sleek hairdo on the other hand was done by MUBA Cosmetics, the main hair and makeup sponsor team for the show.
