It’s not every day a global fashion icon reaches out to a thrift shop miles away from their locale—but that’s exactly what happened to Kimberly Roxas, the founder of Philippine-based online vintage store Shop Florice.

What started as a thrift-loving hobby has now grown into a well-loved online destination for carefully curated vintage finds, which caught the attention of supermodel Bella Hadid’s very own styling team.

According to Kimberly, it all began with a simple DM. “Athina, the assistant to Molly Dickson [Bella’s stylist], sent me a message on Instagram asking if they could pull pieces for Bella’s Orebella event,” she tells Preview, referencing the model’s skin parfum collection. “They essentially asked if they could select pieces from our available inventory. I know that Bella has a deep appreciation for vintage fashion, so I believe that’s the aesthetic they were aiming for.”

“Initially, I was in shock and incredibly excited,” Kimberly continues. “It’s not just for anyone–it’s for Miss Bella Hadid, an icon and one of my greatest inspirations in fashion and in life.”
The dress in question is a dreamy, copper-toned, vintage slip dress with a cowl neckline, delicate beadwork, and floral embroidery—equal parts ethereal and romantic. The sheer, asymmetrical hem adds to its movement and charm, making it a standout piece that wouldn’t look out of place at a red carpet or runway.

However, as fate would have it, the dress had already been sold at one of Shop Florice’s pop-ups. “Luckily, I was able to pull some strings! I remembered who purchased it. It was one of my loyal customers, Miss Hannah,” Kimberly recalls. “I reached out to her to see if she would be willing to sell it back to me, and she kindly agreed.”

While Bella ultimately didn’t wear the dress to the event, the moment still marks a huge milestone for Shop Florice. “It’s still an incredible honor to be acknowledged by someone I deeply admire,” Kimberly says. “Earlier this year, on a random Friday, Bella DM'd us saying ‘Hiii.’ It’s worth adding to our resumé for sure.”

Kimberly’s journey with vintage fashion began early, rooted in childhood memories of thrifting with her mom and growing up surrounded by antiques. What started as a P1,000 investment after college has turned into a thriving shop that’s been running for seven years strong.
“There’s something exhilarating about thrifting. I can easily lose track of time in an ukay, which truly feels like my happy place,” she says. “I aim to make an experience where clothing transcends being mere fabric, and becomes a meaningful part of someone’s life. Whether it’s a vintage dress that brings back childhood memories or a bold piece that inspires self-expression, I’m committed to curating items that help build lasting connections.
“As I look ahead, I hope to foster a community that celebrates each vintage item not just for its beauty, but for the unique stories it tells—stories of love, history, and shared experiences.”
