TikTok is back with another viral trend; and this time it’s inspired by none other than supermodel, Bella Hadid. It all started when TikTok makeup artist, Rachel OCool, created the “jaw highlight” trend based on the model's photos. Needless to say, we couldn’t have grabbed our highlight and contour kits fast enough.
In the original 40-second video (which has over 1.7million views), Rachel pointed out how sharp and highlighted Bella's jaw looks in a set of party photos. She then wondered if it could be recreated with just makeup.
Rachel initially used a only liquid highlighter on her jaw, but with the help of her followers, the makeup artist found out that adding contour before highlighter works so much better. After her successful attempt, more and more TikTokers began trying the “jaw highlight” technique for their own party snaps!

How to Achieve the Bella Hadid-Inspired "Jaw Highlight" Trend on TikTok
Step 1: Jaw Contour
To create contrast between the highlight and your jaw, use a cream or liquid contour and blend down towards your neck. In her video, Rachel suggests placing a small line in the middle so as to not emphasize any double chin, instead of running the product along the entirety of your jawline.
Step 2: Highlighter
To get your jaw glowing like Bella’s, place your favorite highlighter directly on your jaw bone with a small brush. This will create a concentrated glow for your phone’s flash to capture.
Step 3: Flash Test
Normally, the flash on your phone isn’t the most ideal lighting, but this trend calls for it. So get yourself situated in a dimly lit room, get your camera/phone, turn your flash on, and shoot away!
Tip: To get the best view of your jaw highlight, we suggest fixing your camera angle lower and turning to the side (as if you’re talking to a friend at a party) to show off your highlighted jaw.
