Alaïa Has Finally Arrived in the Philippines

In recent years, Alaïa has evolved into one of the most in-demand names in luxury fashion. While its influence dates back to the ’90s (cue Cher Horowitz’s iconic Clueless line), a new generation of style stars is reacquainting themselves with the house’s minimalist yet fashion-forward allure.

To date, the Parisian label continues to draw a loyal following, which includes local personalities like Anne Curtis, Marian Rivera, and Pia Jauncey, alongside global figures such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie— only to name a few.

Now, among its Filipino devotees, the long wait has finally ended. Shoppers no longer need to source Alaïa pieces abroad, as the brand has officially launched in the Philippines through Rustan’s, one of the country’s leading luxury department store chains.

On March 15, the retailer confirmed the brand’s local debut via its social media platforms. “A name synonymous with precision, sculptural elegance, and an uncompromising dedication to the female form, the Maison’s presence marks a new chapter in our curation of global luxury,” they wrote.

Rustan’s Makati now carries a selection from the Winter-Spring 2026 collection, marking the brand's Philippine debut. Key pieces include the Le Teckel bag, Le Cœur heels, and the crowd-favorite La Ballerine flats.

French-Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaïa founded his namesake label in 1964. Known for his body-contouring silhouettes and precise construction, the couturier popularized sculptural garments that emphasize the female form—earning him the moniker “King of Cling.”

In 2021, four years after his passing, Belgian designer Pieter Mulier assumed the role of creative director. Until his recent exit from the brand, he was widely credited with upholding the founder’s design philosophy while extending the brand's contemporary relevance through his consistently lauded collections.
