We have Chanel to thank for this return...and, a direct perpetrator much closer to home, maison muse Jennie Kim of K-pop girl group Blackpink. The question stands: Are those adorable matchy sweater sets that your mom hoarded in the '90s officially back? We think so, and here's proof.

The funny thing is that your beloved grandma was likely a fan, too. Consisting of a cardigan and a matching tank or short-sleeved top, the twin set first appeared in the '20s care of the aforementioned Madame Gabrielle Chanel and her rival, fellow couturier Elsa Schiaparelli. Still, it only became silver screen-certified in 1937, when Lana Turner headlined the flick They Won't Forget in a scandalous, figure-skimming knit. Gasp. Then followed the rest of the notoriously curve-flauntin' so-called Sweater Girls (count bombshell actresses Jayne Mansfield and Jane Russell among their number).
