As fashion girls, one of the biggest faux pas we could ever commit is stepping out in clothes that look as if they’ve been recklessly balled up, stuffed in a tiny balikbayan box, and shipped overseas. Yikes. But what happens if you don't have an iron handy? Below, eight great ways to get rid of wrinkles sans a steamer.
1. Hot shower
Leave your clothes in the bathroom while you take a hot shower. Tip: Hang garments as close to the steam as possible!
Dab the creased spots with warm water, then blast your hairdryer on said problem areas. A hand dryer works just as well, FYI.
Heat a tea kettle until the water is boiling and hold up the wrinkled portion of your clothes about a foot away from the steaming spout. Watch those pesky folds fade!
4. Damp towels
Put your garment underneath a damp towel or two and gently press down to knead creases out.
Spritz clothes with one part vinegar to three parts water, then air-dry. A bonus: The mixture is super-gentle on your threads!
6. Metal pot
Boil water in a regular cooking pot, drain, then use the hot, flat bottom to work wrinkles away. How's that for double-purpose?
7. Spray bottle
Mix water with a little bit of fabric softener, stand approximately 12 inches away from your garment, then lightly mist. The fabric softener adds weight to the cloth, effortlessly smoothing it out.
8. Hair straightener
No clothes iron? A hair iron will do the trick! It's especially good for smaller areas like collars and cuffs.
