In what was reported to be a supposed celebration, the 59-year-old tycoon’s superyacht sunk in the Sicilian waters after a violent storm, where his body, among guests that include his daughter, was recovered by divers and brought to shore in Porticello, Italy. Authorities confirmed the identity of the billionaire’s body on August 22.

The statistical model used by the company was called the Bayesian inference, which was coined after a theorem by statistician Thomas Bayes. Autonomy became one of the UK’s most successful tech companies, leveraging Lynch's expertise in mathematics and software development.
Before he made a name for himself with the company, the billionaire earned his PhD in mathematical computation from the prestigious Cambridge University.
