Filipino hospitality manifests in many ways—each one felt in different parts of the globe. Soon, it will happily enter Europe through the form of comfortable and convenient accommodations. Hotel101 is set to open in Milan, Italy.
Hotel101’s Global Expansion
Hotel101 Global Holdings Corporation is a subsidiary of DoubleDragon Corporation, the listed property developer owned by Edgar “Injap” Sia II and Tony Tan Caktiong. It is also the first Filipino-owned company to list on the US Nasdaq Stock Exchange.
The homegrown hospitality brand already operates in several key Philippine destinations, including Manila, Taguig, Quezon City, Palawan, Bohol, Cebu, Davao, and Boracay. Its current room rates start at around P3,000 per night—a level of accessibility the company intends to uphold as it pursues international expansion.
If Hotel101 sounds familiar, it may be due to its sustained presence and strategic partnerships. The brand has been a long-time partner of Miss Asia Pacific International, where Miss Philippines Anita Rose Gomez not only finished as first runner-up but also received the Miss Hotel101 award. It likewise served as the home-away-from-home for Team Slovenia and Team Chile during the 2025 Volleyball Men’s World Championship.
Before unveiling their plans for Italy, the group had already begun developments in several international locations, including Japan, California, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Cambodia. Across these projects, the company intends to integrate energy-efficient features—such as solar panels—and community-oriented amenities.
If you imagine yourself strolling through San Donato Milanese in Milan a few years from now, you may be in luck: 2028 is the target year for completion. Hotel101 Milan will rise on a 1.4-hectare prime site, offering an estimated 429 rooms and four-star amenities at rates designed to stay within reach of everyday travelers.
