In Perfect Crown, some of the series’ most visually expansive scenes unfold inside a hanok estate used for large gatherings, including the king's birthday banquet in episode one. The location is The Hanok Heritage Hotel in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province, a large-scale property that opened to the public after initially operating as a more private retreat.
On screen, it appears as a continuous architectural space shaped by courtyards, long corridors, and open views of the surrounding landscape. The actual property spans a wide natural site where villas and rooms are arranged to follow the terrain and river lines around it.

The Hanok Heritage Hotel
The Hanok Heritage Hotel is designed as a contemporary interpretation of hanok architecture, grounded in traditional Korean spatial principles. According to reports by The Korea Times, the project draws inspiration from the main hall of Jongmyo Shrine and describes itself as “a contemporary expression of Korean heritage,” with structures designed around seasonal light and the surrounding landscape.
Architect Chung Il Cho, in interviews with Korea JoongAng Daily, described the project as the result of long-term research that connects traditional architecture with modern building methods. He said, “I believe in analog. Digital is nothing but fake,” and added on the website, “Hanok embodies harmony between nature and humanity.”
