It's official: Tim Burton is making his TV directorial debut with none other than Netflix. Even better? The series will follow the story of Wednesday of The Addams Family. With an exciting team behind it, the young adult series is set to be a satisfying binge.
Here's everything we know about Wednesday so far.
What is Wednesday about?
According to Netflix, the live-action series is a coming-of-age comedy that sees Wednesday graduate into a leading lady. And, with Burton's gothic style, it's a match made in entertainment. We can already expect plenty of black comedy and camp.
With eight planned episodes, the series promises to be a "sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday’s years as a student at the peculiar Nevermore Academy." Read the early synopsis for the show below.
Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago—all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body.
Who is in the cast?
There's no word yet on who will play the titular role of Wednesday Addams. Sadly, seeing as the series will explore Wednesday's life as a student, we can probably rule out Christina Ricci reprising the role. Burton's frequent collaborators might be worth looking into, however. Here's to hoping we see Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, or Christopher Lee take part in the Netflix show.

When will Wednesday air?
Wednesday doesn't have an official release date yet, but we'll probably know more in the coming months. We'll report more on the show along the way.
