In case you didn't notice, there's a new trend on Instagram: disposable analog camera filters!

Celebrities like Anne CurtisMaine Mendoza, and Liza Soberano have been posting new photos that look like old prints from the '90s—meaning, color contrast, especially the red channel, was reduced, and the brightness to approximate light fading was adjusted.

Last October 22, Maine surprised her followers when she made her highly-anticipated comeback on Twitter by uploading a series of photos taken from the AlDub Nation Festival 2017 held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The photos were all high in contrast with random light leaks and date stamps.

Liza also had fun using this camera app filter during her date night with on-screen partner Enrique Gil in Tagaytay City last Tuesday, October 24.

Meanwhile, the It's Showtime host has been uploading on Instagram some of her OOTDs, which seem like they were taken by an analog camera.

Here are some apps you might want to use if you'd like to post blast-from-the-past photos:

Huji Cam App, inspired by the first Fujifilm Quicksnap disposable camera, gives crisp and high-contrast photos, complete with random light glares and date stamps. This app is free. But if you want all your photos to be saved automatically on your phone, ready your PHP49.

Gudak Cam app, inspired by Kodak, can only produce 24 photos—which is pretty much the number of shots per film for a disposable camera. The photos will be brought to a "processing lab," and will be "developed" after three days. It is exclusively available on Apple App Store for PHP49.
