Each month presents Preview a challenge and an opportunity to push beyond boundaries and produce a cover that has never been done before—both by the brand and the star we are featuring. For October, we reached for celestial heights and sought new frontiers as we put beauty in the forefront with Celeste Cortesi.
The reigning Miss Universe Philippines 2022 may seem like an obvious choice for a beauty cover with what her stunning looks and svelte figure. But, as what everyone on set recognized, this was probably the last thing that made her standout in the pageant stage. Here was a woman who knew who she was and what she wanted—and she wasn't afraid to get it. While her luster might catch your eye, it's her fire that draws you close.

In this episode of The Making Of, we go behind-the-scenes of Preview's October 2022 beauty cover featuring Celeste Cortesi. "So, for beauty covers, it's usually portraits. So 'yung focus talaga is yung makeup, yung hair, and then mas-close up lang siya," Art Director Bacs Arcebal explains. While the beauty pegs had to be adjusted on the day, the envelope was still pushed to achieve impact. It's not the usual Celeste that you see on the cover, but it's certainly just as striking.
To bring this concept to life, we tapped the creative prowess of makeup artist Mickey See and hairstylist Renz Pangilinan, and played on custom-made headpieces by Le Doré by Louie Gallego and facial jewelry by Manny Halasan for an ethereal feel.
The dresses by JustBonita complemented the glam and tied the overall look together, while photographer Alan Segui worked his magic behind the lens to capture all of these detail and bring it to light.
