Look out, travel enthusiasts! If you missed capitalizing on Taiwan’s visa-free travel program, you might just get another chance. Originally set to expire on July 31 this year, after being extended for a successful trial run last 2017, the visa-free privilege for Filipinos is being considered by the Taiwanese government for yet another extension to last until July 31, 2020.
The said program allows visitors a 14-day stay in Taiwan. Countries from last year’s extension with the same privilege included citizens from Brunei, Thailand, Russia, and the Philippines. If approved, this will mark the third time the program has been extended for Filipinos, as a 12.5% increase in Pinoy visitors was reported to have entered Taiwan in the first quarter of this year alone.
Famous spots to visit in Taiwan include Taipei 101, the Guandu Temple, the Taipei Zoo, and the picturesque gardens of Fo Guang Shan.
Fingers crossed the program gets approved for another year!
