It all started back in 2015 as a traditional farming business. The owners shared that they only used to plant corn and sweet potato crops. The heavy typhoons that regularly come to the country took a toll, but they were able to turn things around after meeting someone who taught them how to plant high-value crops and how to weather each storm. In fact, it was an oversupply of lettuce that led them to start Samgyup sa Farm.
The place went viral with the help of a friend that posted about it on TikTok, and with people being into K-dramas and anything Korean right now, this was an experience with a different kind of atmosphere they were ready to try.
And though the pandemic took a toll on their business, they found ways to make their business work while following the safety protocols.
