What: Travel Connect's wifi router rental + tour package

Pro-tip: Travel with a powerbank to charge your personal router and other gadgets.

What it is: It's a travel agency that arranges your travel itinerary and includes a wifi router so you're able to have internet connection wherever you go.

How I Used it: Last October, I went on a spontaneous out-of-the-country trip with my best friend. We didn't really know we were going on vacation two weeks prior the trip, so we're panicking while arranging our accommodations and other travel needs. Good thing, I discovered Travel Connect. They arranged everything for us last minute. Upon choosing a relaxed itinerary for a three-day stay in Hong Kong (mind you, our trip was during Halloween!), they were able to book everything for us. But perhaps, the best part of the service is that the company also provided a wifi router rental that made navigating through HK (and posting pics, of course) a whole lot easier.

Priced at P320 per day (rates depend on your destination), Travel Connect delivers (and later on collects) the device to your doorstep a day before (and after) your flight. Once you step in the foreign land you're visiting, you can simply configure and activate your device, and you're good to go.

Upon reading the device's brochure, my primary worry was the 500mb daily limit, especially since there were two of us using the device at the same time. But we experienced little to no buffer as we went around the city. In fact, we were able to use it back at our hotel when their wifi would falter. We easily enjoyed the internet connection for video streaming and uploading, too, while in the hotel.

Conclusion: I felt confident navigating around a foreign city on my own with the help of the device. I was connected the entire time to my online socials so I was able to post real-time updates on Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and IG stories. Plus, I was able to access my Google and Outlook emails and stream videos without a fuss! But the biggest perk of having the device for a working girl like me was that I was able to work on my articles even while I was out of town. The internet connection is usually my issue when accessing our site, but I had no problem loading our pages and researching for my articles using the device.

I'd recommend renting a wifi router wherever you travel, for sure! Earlier this year, I went on a family vacation in Japan and only relied on the free router our AirBnB host provided—big mistake! I couldn't load anything then, except for Snapchat and Facebook. Posting pics on Instagram was also a struggle. But now that I found Travel Connect's fuss-free services, I'm sure now I'll always travel with a personal wifi router!
