Meet All the Lovers in Preview's Pride 2025 Cover
Preview's June cover features 16 queer couples proudly professing their love.

In the 1987 Constitution, the Family Code of the Philippines defines marriage solely as a union between a man and a woman. This withholds legal recognitions, including but not limited to healthcare, insurance, and property rights, for relationships that don't meet heteronormative standards. Pleas for marriage equality have been part of the societal conversation for years now, with bills that seek to legalize same-sex unions left to languish in Congress.
What may not be apparent to opposers of the movement is that the fight for marriage equality does not ask for any extra provisions. It's rooted in the very simple and very real foundation of love, a concept that any human being is capable of grasping. With the current political climate, both within and outside the Philippines, it proves to be a priority for queer people that need someone to have and to hold.
For Preview's June 2025 cover, we gathered 16 couples who fearlessly express their love for a montage of what it would be like if they could walk down the aisle together. Each coming from diverse backgrounds, these pairs tell stories that are uniquely their own, intertwined in the greater fabric of love that has no labels or limitations. Meet them below.

Jema Galanza and Ella de Jesus
Former competitors on the collegiate volleyball court, Jema and Ella found each other as ideal partners both in sport and in love. Star players of the Creamline Cool Smashers, the athletic duo admit that love in the public eye hasn't always been easy. And yet, they persevere to keep the spark alive. The two have gained several admirers, with social media often abuzz over #Jella and their shared moments of sweetness.
Devotion and communication are two things they abide by, because, "at the end of the day, ang nagma-matter naman is 'yung commitment and love namin for each other." Wedding bells may ring or they may not, but Jema and Ella are already set for life as they are.

Deo Cabrera and Richmond Tabangcura
Already equipped with a considerable following on TikTok, Deo was just scrolling through her for-you page when she passed by Richmond. A cheeky comment later, and the two linked up, despite the distance that separated them at the time. "Talagang 'for me' sya," Deo quips.
The two of them are young, and while tying the knot is certainly something they see down the line, it's not something they're rushing into. They're taking their time, continually getting to know each other and falling in love all over again. "Magmahal lang kayo... darating ang point na madali na lang sabihin na mahal mo ang isang tao," they say to their fellow Gen Z's.

Arts Serrano and Agu Crisostomo
Artists of varying yet similar crafts, Arts and Agu have built a world of their own for the past six years now. An architect and animator respectively, they've viewed their relationship as anything but fantastical, but rather, as a reality they vouch for everyday.
"We would want to be able to completely live our lives like human beings," Arts puts it, "Yung pagka-real ng relationship namin isn't something that the state can define. With or without [marriage], what I feel for Agu is true."

Rocky Legaspi and Migo Alomajan
The minds and hands behind Preview's most elaborate and thoughtful backdrops, Rocky and Migo of Rocketsets have crafted a partnership that's uniquely and sincerely theirs. Migo sent Rocky a friend request on Facebook, one thing led to another, and the two have become partners in almost every facet of their lives. The production design company is their "baby," an entity that strengthens their bond and allows them to make a name for themselves.

Agnes Reoma and Pat Lasaten
In whatever life they find themselves in, Pat will always choose Agnes, and Agnes will always choose Pat. Members of folk-pop band Ben&Ben, "PatNes" officially got hitched in Los Angeles late last 2024. It's a day they mutually describe as their best day ever. With their closest kin surrounding them, and with support reverberating all the way from home, the two professed the love they had for each other since their college days.
Ticking "single" in identification boxes that don't acknowledge their union stings, but the two remain secure with one another. "Gusto ko lang i-make sure na even 'dun sa next life or at least when we reach heaven or kung saan man, na kami pa rin dalawa," Pat declares.

Jervi and Luke Wrightson
On a holiday in Hong Kong, Luke asked Jervi to go to Disneyland with him because, in his words, "That's where princesses like you belong." Jervi, who already saw Luke as a prince in shining armor, accepted the invitation, and the rest is history. The couple made things official with a wedding in the United Kingdom, where Luke was from and where same-sex marriage is legal. As joyous as the occasion was, it also exacerbated the shortcomings of the Philippine marriage system for Jervi.
"I dream of a Philippines where love is never illegal," Mrs. Wrightson muses, "where no one is ever forced to choose between their country and their truth." Recognition by the state is essential, especially for couples that are intent on building a long life together. "Because love is love," Jervi adds. "And love deserves the law."

Klea Pineda and Katrice Kierulf
Sliding into Katrice's direct messages was Klea's way of letting her eventual girlfriend know she was more than interested in her. As individuals who step in front of the camera for a living, they hope their relationship serves as an example of how love is impossible even in the most unexpected of places.
Both Klea and Katrice emphasize how vital it is to care for oneself before caring for another. "We're also working on ourselves first. We're improving our personal lives, but at the same time, we also prioritize the relationship," Katrice explains.

Bethany Talbot and Hyna
Citizens of the TikTok generation, Bethany and Hyna both started out as "anonymous scrollers" of each others feeds. A like here, a comment there, and the next thing you know, the two have been love birds for years now. The multitude of scrollers who can't help but fawn over their couple content proves the natural chemistry between them.
As early as now, getting married is something they eagerly look forward to. "We don't know where, we don't know how and when," Bethany states, "but we know, for sure, that it's something we're working towards."

Raejell Roxas and Catherine Bautista
Batchmates from the Professional Modeling Association of the Philippines (PMAP), Raejell and Cath move in sync, both on set and in life. Friendship blossomed in the most beautiful of ways when the two began seeing each other as more than just plain peers. Now, they share a home, with a clowder of cats filling their space with more affection.
Even with their shared professions, both ladies recognize that change is constant, and that it's normal even in the most secure partnerships. “It's having the mindset na you're learning. You're learning about your partner. You're also learning about the relationship," Cath illustrates, "so just because you feel na you're done with the getting-to-know-you stage, it doesn't stop there."

Abraham Guardian and Gem Ausa
From across the room at a party, Ham first laid eyes on Gem and had a good feeling they would be more than friends. True enough, they've been together for years now, with Ham as one-half of designer brand HA.MU. and Gem as a public relations professional and events host. Compromise, communication, and compassion are three things they base their relationship on. They've planned out their nuptials from the color scheme and dress code, and down to the beachside location. Wide-eyed dreamers as ever, Ham and Gem fervently hope that it escapes their imagination and manifests into something bigger than they've ever thought.

Cenon at Mav
An inseperable duo, Cenon at Mav have the same passion for their work as they do for each other. As fantastical and fine-tuned as the images they produce may appear, they attest that their love is as real and raw as it gets. During her period of transitioning, Mav admits that there was some difficulty in accepting Cenon's love like before. To this, Cenon, who identifies as pansexual, simplified things by affirming Mav that "walang nang problema doon."
It's this simplicity and honesty that makes their relationship continue to flourish. "Yung parang mahirap intindihin, iintindihin niya talaga... Sobrang gentle [niya]. Sobrang easy lang for him na gawin 'yung mga 'yun," Mav shares.

Saint Yves and Francheska Lhian
Proudly declaring themselves as a "queer as f***" couple, Saint and Eska don't care for your labels or expectations. Poster kids for Gen Z's unabashed expressions of love, the two Preview Clique members dove into their relationship with nothing to lose. Saint candidly says that they had a love for Eska that they just couldn't suppress, no matter how many people would disapprove or doubt their union. It's love that they define for themselves, which is as real and valid as any other love there is out there.

Hergie Bacyadan and Lady Denily Go
Lady met Hergie on a whim, which, in retrospect, was representative of how carefree and easy their romance is. Lady encountered the Olympic boxer at a pivotal time of her life, and the same can be said for Hergie, who was deep in trainings and competitions. Still, they made time for one another, which led to a quaint ceremony up in the mountains of Rizal.
Their marriage may still come with its own set of challenges, with many onlookers raising eyebrows at them, but these are hurdles Hergie and Lady face head-on together.

RJ Santos and Nicolo Perez
Love is weaved seamlessly between fashion designers RJ and Nicolo. The latter had looked up to RJ before he launched his own brand, and all it took was one Instagram interaction for the two of them to meet and explore romantic possibilities. They both agree that a wedding, particularly in a Catholic church, may not be in their cards, but they also don't feel the need to conform to such tradition. The nightly dinners and long conversations they have are enough for them to feel the endlessness of their love.

Jigs Mayuga and Ben Ty
Both firm and vocal supporters of the queer rights movement in the country, Jigs and Ben's relationship is practical yet uncontrived at the same time. Wedded in barongs in front of the San Francisco town hall, they celebrated their union with their chosen families, signifying their life-long commitment to one another. This came with vital arrangements, such as shared bank accounts and insurance plans should the unthinkable occur. While these are things heterosexual couples can do without, Jigs and Ben know that what's important is that they remain secure in what they've built over the years.

Kylie Celebre and Jan Pablo
Kylie and Jan were both one swipe away from love. After meeting through a dating app, the two entered a relationship grounded on a shared understanding of what it's like being transgender in an often condemnatory society. All technicalities considered, both of them can legally marry in the Philippines, but they underscore that their union is not conforming to societal conventions. Their love is unique, and it deserves to be seen just like any other love.
"If people are able to see more queer relationships, a lot of them would understand that we also just want to love and get married," Kylie says.

With the special participation of:
Sassa Gurl
Pride season just wouldn't be complete without an appearance by Sassa Gurl. Evolved from her days of merely being a viral internet sensation, Sassa has wielded her wit and grit to become a staunch supporter of the LGBTQIA+ movement in the country. During the most recent midterm elections, she was a stirring voice in the conversation on same-sex marriage and the vitality of its passing. For the content creator and proud trans woman, love is not transactional.
"Sabi nila, ang tunay na pag-ibig ay marunong gumalang ng institusyon. At ang kasal, bilang isang institusyon ng lipunan, ay nagsisilbing pinaka-mataas na pangangako ng isang tao para sa pag-ibig," she muses. "Kasama sa pag-galang sa kasal ang pag-galang sa pagmamahalan ng dalawang taong nanumpa sa mata ng batas—hindi sa mata ng mga taong mapanghusga."
