It's official: Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Dee is off to conquer the universe! The actress and beauty queen announced her bid for Miss Universe Philippines 2022 on February 15, much to the surprise of her fans.
According to Michelle, "it's now or never." It's been three years since her Top 12 finish in Miss World after all, and she definitely seems up for the challenge.
To couple the news, the 26-year-old shared a jaw-dropping set of photos featuring her brand new look. She posed in a black one-piece swimsuit and showed off her freshly-chopped blunt bob!
Michelle also debuted a set of hashtags for her upcoming bid for MUPH. Her 2019 signature #ForDEEWorld is now #ForDEEUniverse, and it will be joined by (the very witty) #DEEpataposanglaban [The battle is not over].
After her announcement, the beauty queen went on IG stories to thank everyone for their support. "My heart is so full. HERE WE GO. [sparkle and PH flag emoji]"
Miss World alumni making a bid for Miss Universe Philippines is not a foreign concept for Filipina queens. ICYDK, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was also the country's bet for Miss World 2016, where she finished in the Top 5.
So is the same fate in Michelle's stars? We guess we'll just have to find out this April!
