If you loved South Korea's Purple Isles, then you'll definitely want to visit the Hani Lavender Farm, a wide stretch of breathtaking blooms located in the Goseong County of Korea's Gangwon Province. According to Korea's official travel website, the famed farm was first opened in 2006 by "lavender missionary" Ha Deok-ho. It spans 33,000 square meters and is best viewed throughout the months of May to July.
That said, tourists can specifically time their Gangwon visit to June when then lavenders are in full bloom, and celebrate the farm's annual festival along with the locals. Dubbed the Goseong Lavender Festival, the three-week event is packed with various activities for visitors to enjoy, much like the Taebaek Sunflower Festival. The said activities usually include photo contests, exhibits, and soap and perfume making.
