Kris Bernal and Perry Choi got hitched in Magallanes Church on September 25, and it was very much a traditional fairytale church wedding, complete with a solemn ceremony and classic details, such as a long bridal veil, sweetly-sung hymns, and a heavenly flower-laden setup. Amid all of these tried-and-true features, Kris and Perry managed to inject details that were unique and mesmerizing. Take a look!
All the Details We Loved About Kris Bernal and Perry Choi's Church Wedding:
1. Kris' ponytail by Bianca Anne Vergara was unexpected, but we couldn't have imagined a better look.
Kris rocked a pretty off-kilter bridal look. With help from hairstylist Bianca Anne Vergara, she swapped her usual cascading tresses for a voluminous'60s-inspired Barbie ponytail with perky curled ends and a slight beehive shape. The au courant bridal look usually includes super long beachy waves and a subtle smoky eye, but we love that Kris opted to go for something different altogether.
During our Zoom interview with Kris for her cover story, we learned that Ariana Grande was her main inspo for the look. To complement the retro vibe of her look, Kris went with a shimmery blue eye by Carissa Cielo Medved, which was a beautiful choice. Overall, her look was totally youthful and ethereal. It suited her so well.
2. Not one to stick to convention, Kris picked a yellow FJ Cruiser as her bridal car.
Thanks to its bright yellow hue, the car was still very much on theme! Plus, the thick-wheeled SUV was probably the coolest choice given the heavy rain.
3. The entire wedding ceremony was livestreamed on YouTube.
Just like she'd promised her subscribers weeks before, Kris, with the help of Nice Print Photo, livestreamed her whole wedding ceremony on YouTube. The pictorial segment post-ceremony wasn't shown for her guests' privacy, which makes sense. But everything else was documented well! Her videography team was surely hard at work all day.
4. She had a live band performing all throughout the ceremony.
Nothing beats a live performance. The singer, Jona, sung the song Kris walked down the aisle to. There was also a pianist, violinist, and cellist, and they played all the church hymns and post-ceremony tunes.
5. They rode a helicopter and had a helipad photoshoot!
The FJ Crusier wasn't the only unconvetional vehicle booked for the wedding. During our cover interview with Kris, she mentioned that she was pushing for a helicopter as her mode of transportation to and from the reception. Looks like it pushed through!
