Blind boxes have been all the rage this year. Perhaps you’ve given in to the temptation of trying one out just for the experience, or maybe that curiosity has grown into a full-blown collection. If not, chances are you’ve at least heard of them and seen them around. Typically, these sealed containers house mystery figurines. Kodak, however, is switching things up with its own blind boxes—each containing none other than a fully functional camera.

All About the Kodak Charmera

Kodak has introduced its own take on blind boxes with the Kodak Charmera. It comes in seven unique designs, including one secret edition. True to the experience, you won’t know which one you’ll get unless you go for the whole set, but each still carries that signature vintage charm.

And yes, the Kodak Charmera isn’t just a keychain. It works like a regular point-and-shoot, equipped with a 35mm F2.4 lens. The digital camera can take both photos and videos, with various built-in settings to choose from, including retro frames, vintage filters, and a date stamp. Together, they add an instant touch of nostalgia.

A micro SD card is required to store files, which can also be easily transferred to your chosen device using a USB-C cable. The Kodak Charmera draws inspiration from the Kodak Fling, the brand’s first signature single-use camera launched in 1987. Both embody the same ethos of celebrating the simplicity of photography.

Designed to reimagine that retro charm with a modern, digital twist, the Kodak Charmera measures 58 (W) × 24.5 (H) × 20 (D) millimeters and weighs just 30 grams. With its compact size, the Kodak Charmera can be carried by hand, in a pocket, or on a bag.
