There’s honestly no other actress we can think of who could portray the role of Ko Mun-yeong in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay better than Seo Ye Ji. It’s as if the character was written with her in mind, and she plays it so perfectly! That said, we also can’t imagine how insurmountable the pressure must have been for the child actress who was tasked to play the young Ko Mun-yeong. Given the hype surrounding IOTNBO and how impeccably talented her senior co-stars are, the expectations are naturally high—especially since she’s been given the great responsibility to play the younger counterpart of the drama’s very complex female lead. But as it turns out, the 11-year-old Kim Soo In is also a force to be reckoned with!
The little Kim Soo In is able to capture the character of Ko Mun-yeong down to a tee—beautiful, mysterious, and with a bit of dark side to her. Besides the fact that she actually does resemble Seo Ye Ji, her acting prowess has managed to attract the attention of the viewers and gain positive feedback! While there’s not a lot of info about her online, we did manage to find out that her first drama role was in 2016 for Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo. She’s also had small roles in other K-dramas such as While You Were Sleeping and Stranger, and her first big break was playing the younger version of Shin Ye Eun in He Is Psychometric just last year.
We found Kim Soo In’s official Instagram account as well (thanks to IOTNBO’s dashing leading man Kim Soo Hyun, who himself uploaded a series of pictures with the child actress on his IG), and naturally, we can’t help but further adore this beautiful little girl!
So pretty and talented! We can't wait to see what a beautiful leading lady she'll grow up to be!
