Did You Know? Julia Barretto Put Her Brother Leon Through College

The Barretto family is simply iconic, and this is not only because of their long-standing influence in Philippine entertainment but also for their genuine bond that transcends generations. Julia Barretto and her siblings—Dani, Claudia, Leon, and Erich—are proof of this. Their mother, former actress and public servant Marjorie, proudly shares their moments together, too.

Each of them has established their own presence in social media, including the unico hijo who revealed a heartwarming story through one of his personal vlogs.

Sharing glimpses of his life, Leon posts YouTube videos that document special occasions such as holidays, roadtrips, and more recently, his graduation day. He capped off his educational journey at the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Almost a month prior to sharing the vlog, Leon took to Instagram to thank the people who helped make it happen. A lone paragraph was dedicated to Julia, where the 22-year-old gentleman wrote, “Thank you for taking care of me during these past years. It meant so much—not just because you helped mom, but because of the belief and potential you’ve always seen in me.”

His vlog that followed brought further clarity to his sentiments, where he revealed that Julia is “the reason why I’ve been able to go to college, and for that, I really want to say thank you.” He added that he was all the more motivated to work hard because of the support from his family, especially from his mom and his sister. “Thank you for making my dreams come true by putting me [through] school,” he expressed.

Leon also thanked Marjorie for raising them in such a way that they see the value of education. Walking the talk, Marjorie and Leon actually graduated from college the same year, showing that there’s no fixed timeline when it comes to pursuing your dreams.
