Planning to visit Jeju Island with your friends this 2020? You may be in luck, as the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines has posted on December 20 that a "visa-free system" for tourist groups is in the works!
"The visa-free system, which is scheduled to be tested on the first half of...2020, is for group tourists who have scheduled flights to enter Korea with the final destination of Jeju Island (using domestic flights)," the advisory notes. "Therefore, individual tourists are not eligible. And only group tourists with certain requirements will be given these benefits."
Currently, there are still no updates on what these requirements will be, but "[the matter] will be further discussed with the related ministries in Korea until February 2020."
In the meantime, you can download the new Korean visa application form here.
