The internet couldn’t help but make speculations about the real score between James Reid and Filipino-American model Kelsey Merritt after they were recently spotted together in Los Angeles, California. A viral TikTok video showed the two sitting in a car with Kelsey leaning on James’ shoulder, which made netizens quick to speculate that the two might be dating.

Surprise, surprise! Effectively shutting down the romance rumors with his most recent Instagram post, James has confirmed that the controversial photos were actually for his new single. “Lovescene: u & i… Out now on all streaming platforms,” he announced on his IG.

He definitely put the internet into a frenzy with that unexpected plot twist, but one thing's for sure: Now it has everyone's attention, and we can't wait to listen to his music. "u & i" is James' first single off of his highly anticipated album LOVESCENE, which is set to release in October this year.
