Carrie Bradshaw said when her best gay friend Stanford Blatch was about to tie the knot: “I think every couple has the right to make their own rules.”
Last Saturday while some of us were experiencing bliss at Paradise, a different kind of bliss filled the air over at The Blue Leaf events pavilion where hairstylists Lourd Ramos and Mehdi Moussaoui made a lifelong vow with their families and closest friends as witnesses. The legalization of same-sex marriage in different states around the globe is something we hear about every day and fills us with much glee. Meanwhile, back on home turf, we hope and wait for our own Supreme Court to one day recognize marriage equality as a civil right. While that day has yet to arrive, we’re very much happy to see couples like Lourd and Mehdi stepping out to show the world that love comes in different forms. Congratulations, Lourd and Mehdi! #LoveWins
Here’s an inside look at their beautiful ceremony:
Lourd wore a corsage made by Teddy Manuel who also styled the event.
Mehdi wore a suit by desginer Ulysess King
For the ceremony, Lourd wore an all-white outfit designed by Mark Bumgarner
"You may now kiss the bride."
Cupcakes by Sonja’s Pam Berge shares that Lourd said he wanted it “Super simple, just one big round single-tier cake but with lots of flowers around it. All white."
