Who needs wallpapers when you’re a talented artist like Heart Evangelista?
In case you missed it, the multi-hyphenate actress and social media star has been spending some quality time in Sorsogon with her husband, Gov. Chiz Escudero. Using the hashtag #MahalKongSorsogon, she’s been documenting her stay in the beautiful province and giving us glimpses of the things that have been keeping her busy—enjoying kakanin, hitting up the breathtaking Bulusan Lake, and visiting various hospitals to give away free vitamins (a must in the time of COVID-19).
That said, what definitely caught our attention was the work she did inside one of the guest bedrooms of their ancestral home in Sorsogon. In true Love Marie fashion, the artist in Heart couldn’t help but see its plain white wall as a giant canvas with the potential to become her next masterpiece. Lo and behold, she transformed it into a gorgeous mural that blows tropical wallpapers out of the water!
“Bringing the outside, indoors,” Heart says in an Instagram post. ”For this project, I was inspired by Sorsogon’s abundant greenery. I wanted to reflect it in our home’s interiors. Special thanks to @aguilarjeck and @kristineiralesaca for helping me fill in the greens on the areas I couldn’t reach.”

It’s not the first time Heart showed off her impeccable painting skills. It’s no secret that she loves brandishing her artwork on her well-loved designer bags, too. Even VIPs have flocked to Heart to have her paint on their precious Hermès arm candies, including Jinkee Pacquiao and Kim Chiu. In September 2016, she held the #CarryYourHeART painted bags exhibit to showcase her creations. In November 2018, she launched her first exclusive collection with local retail brand Kamiseta, featuring a line of stylish clothing with Heart’s signature art emblazoned on them. Most recently, she also sold a painting to buy tablets for students in need.
