There's no denying that the Philippines is home to a vibrant creative community. As the landscape grows, so does the need for spaces that can cultivate artistic expression and collaboration. Haus+ Studio was designed just for that.
By creatives and for creatives, Haus+ Studio partner and CAD Studio founder April Duran addressed painpoints from her experience in advertising, production, and marketing and used it as cornerstones for the hub they've built in Makati. "We either worked in spaces that were too small for the ideas we wanted to execute, or rented spaces that were much larger—and much more expensive—than we actually needed. There didn’t seem to be a place in between," she reflects.
Ahead, find out how they bridged the gap between small studios and large venues and how they designed beyond the physical perimeter of Haus+ to foster creative communities.
Haus+ Studio in Makati
While the public mostly sees just the finished output, the published cover or the final cut of a video, a lot of things go into shoot production. Aside from the glam and the fashion, the actual logistics of a project require thoughtful planning and a whole lot of manhours.
Venue is a crucial component, and finding one spacious enough to accommodate your set without compromising your creative vision or budget is every producer's crucible. What's more, you also have to take into consideration the actual location so that it's accessible to the team, and that the actual space is equipped with the necessities to make the day smooth sailing. Proper ventilation and high-speed wifi are also production luxuries that can ultimately lift morale—and Haus+ ticks off all these Herculean boxes.
The Shooting Area
While a studio serves as a creative blank canvas, it needs the right foundations to meet a project's requirements. With a total floor space of 370 square meters and a substantial 300-square-meter shooting space, Haus+ allows production designers to mount full sets and even bring in vehicles and an extensive arsenal of lights and dollies.
The high ceilings evoke a feeling of openness even when you're safely protected from the elements and inside an enclosed, controlled environment. What's more, the main studio area has high-quality tubular frames for mounting additional lights and equipment.
The Facilities
Aside from the main shooting area, there is also a loft that can serve as a lounge or a location for another pocket set-up. Fun fact: This was where photographer Borgy Angeles captured this year's Preview Pride 2026 cover stars' portraits!

There are plush sofas that make waiting for your layout more comfortable, and the 10-seater conference table is ample for huddles. There's also high-speed Wi-Fi so that work outside the office isn't impeded.
Adjacent to the lounge is the make-up room fitted with three stations that had its own makeup chair and mirror. There is also a designated changing room for models to transform in, and a private toilet.

The Community
Even more impressive than the purposeful details and the meticulous planning to anticipate creatives' needs is the intentionality behind these. "Being a creative meant I never saw Haus+ as just a physical space," April explains to Preview.
Whether gathering people for a shoots or hosting events that range from workshops to brand launches, Haus+ was meant to be flexible enough to meet multiple needs by multiple groups and individuals. "It was designed to be shared—to become whatever people need it to be," April adds, revealing that the "+" in the studio's name refers to the belief that every person who walks through their doors also adds their own touch to the space, lending the studio a more robust atmosphere.
"Communities need more than moments. They need a place to return to," April emphasizes. And with Haus+ Studio's commitment to fostering creative collaboration, it's not hard to see that they're building just that.
