1. Stream of Consciousness by Maris Racal
Maris Racal launched her first business venture a couple of years ago with SOC or Stream of Consciousness Coffee. Located in the heart of La Union, where the sunshine strikes and the waters roll, SOC is a go-to place for filling food and refreshing drinks by the beachfront. The SOC Spanish Latte, the Espresso Tonic, and the Matcharamel are some of their must-try beverages. The place is also filled with art, bursting at the seams with creativity and inspiration.

2. Suelo Coffee by Mika Salamanca
Before she became half of the duo that won the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, Mika Salamanca was already an entrepreneur. Suelo Coffee is one of the outcomes of her hard work before reentering the limelight. With a cozy ambiance and great drinks to match, there are “no bad days” spent in the coffee shop. With a vision for growth, their third branch is currently on soft opening!

3. Siesta Horchata by Ryan Bang
Siesta Horchata has a variety of delicious takes on the beloved rice milk-based beverage. You can opt for a glass mixed with coffee, chai, matcha, or coconut, to name a few. Enjoy it the classic way, too! The café is owned by Ryan Bang and his fiancée, Paola Huyong, and both of them actively take shifts, so don’t be surprised if you see them on your visit. Fun fact: Siesta Horchata is where Ryan proposed to Paola.

4. Sóbra Cafe by David Licauco
In 2023, David Licauco introduced his entrepreneurial skills with the opening of Sóbra Cafe. Beyond caffeine-fueled drinks and seasonal brews, they primarily offer comfort food with a twist, such as ribeye salpicao and truffle and steak bowls. As a co-owner of the restaurant, the Pambansang Ginoo shared in an Instagram post that “when you’re passionate about something, you’ll go the extra mile to achieve it.”

5. Happy Islanders Surf Club by Andi Eigenmann
If you find yourself visiting the beautiful island of Siargao, be sure to make a stop at the Happy Islanders Surf Club. Reflecting Andi Eigenmann’s conscious lifestyle, their menu includes fresh fruit smoothies with granola, sliced fruit, and chia pudding. Red rice bowls full of nourishing greens and protein are an option, too. While they also offer coffee, they particularly take pride in their Strawberry Matcha. And if there’s one thing that sets this apart from other cafés, it’s that they have surfing classes on the menu!
