The pandemic has proven to be a solidly entrepreneurial time. Though many beloved establishments have closed down, countless new independent ventures have emerged, like sprouts cracking through concrete. If you're anything like us, you know what it's like to have been comforted by online cookie shops and curated thrift stores over the course of the quarantine. Thanks to these dedicated business owners, we've found spots of joy in these trying times.

The newest cafe to join the roster is Florentias, a coffee and pastry spot in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija. It's owned by Oyence Reyes, an artist by profession. If you find yourself around the area, be sure to visit this open-air coffee hub. You'll be able to sip fresh brews under direct sunlight, surrounded by an assortment of plants. They feature swings, too, in case you doubted the cafe's commitment to a garden vibe!

After reportedly suffering from burnout, Oyence decided to pursue this goal, and opened Florentias as an Instagram store, serving customers around the area and in Metro Manila. On March 28, their physical store officially opened!

They are located in a primarily residential area, far away from the hustle and bustle of the Metro. Thanks to the greenery and white-and-wood motif, the cafe is supremely homey and down-to-earth. There's even a record player that adds a vintage touch, and retro-themed appliances

Once you visit, make sure to try their ready-to-drink brews, coffee beans, as well as their cupcakes and cookies. Oh, and they sell handpainted pots, too, which makes perfect sense given that the owner is an artist. Her artistry definitely shines through in her cafe's Italian art-inspired concept!
