Lella Ford Gets Candid About Being Called a “Nepo Baby”

“When you’re called a nepo baby because you are the daughter of Karla and you are the sister of a superstar, Daniel Padilla, ano ang reaksyon mo?” To this, Lella simply responded, “Totoo naman po.”

She expounded that there’s nothing wrong with being one—issues only arise “if you take advantage of it” and if you don’t do anything for yourself. She set herself apart by saying, “I’m here because I’m making a name for myself. Pinaghihirapan ko lahat ng meron ako now.”

It’s not the first time that the 20-year-old was faced with a question like such, and her responses appear harmonious. Three days before the big night of PBB, the eight finalists took turns in the hot seat where they were interrogated on their values, violations, and the like.

One of the most memorable questions to Lella was: “Hindi ka pa kailanman na-nominate kahit naging top violator ka. Sa tingin mo ba may bias ang housemates sa’yo dahil sa family background mo? Kung ibang housemate ang nasa posisyon mo, sa tingin mo ba pareho pa rin ang trato sa kanya?”

While she acknowledged her privilege in the aforementioned interview with Boy Abunda, she clearly stated back inside the PBB House that she doesn’t think her family background affected her housemates’ biases towards her.

“Every time meron po akong nagagawang mali,” she recalled, “as in pino-point out po talaga nila. Kung iba po ‘yung top violator, I think pareho pa rin naman po ‘yung trato sa kanya.”

She then concluded by saying, “Tinama ko po lahat ng mga mali ko at pinakita ko na I am more than my mistakes.”
