Kris Aquino Makes Her On-Screen Comeback with Netflix
After years away from the spotlight, the Queen of All Media makes a rare on-screen appearance in a new Netflix skit.

The Queen of All Media is back!
After years of battling several autoimmune diseases, Kris Aquino has officially returned to the spotlight. On August 7, streaming service Netflix released a skit starring the beloved host and actress, her first on-screen appearance since stepping away from show business.
Kris Aquino Returns on Screen As Netflix’s New C.H.I.K.A.
Netflix published a hiring post on August 6 announcing that it was looking for a C.H.I.K.A., or "Chief Head of Insights and Kontent Analysis." The qualifications included being "a recognized figure in Philippine entertainment and popular culture" with more than 40 years of experience across various media platforms. The ideal C.H.I.K.A. should also be able to create "quotable viral moments" through interviews and commentary.
Lo and behold, they soon found their C.H.I.K.A., and it's none other than Kris Aquino. In the new Netflix skit, she walks into the streaming giant's editing room in a fiery red suit, announcing her arrival as the new boss.
Her ensemble was by Filipino fashion designer Michael Leyva, whose heart was "crying with joy" to see her wearing his creations again. "I have always hoped for you to stay healthy, and to be able to come back to doing what you love the most," he wrote on his Instagram post. "People will come and go, but I will always stay by your side."
In the video, Kris then sits beside Earljohn, the lone editor in the room, to discuss the platform's campaigns for the month. As Earljohn plays clips from several shows currently streaming on Netflix, Kris offers her thoughts and suggestions on how to "level them up." From visual effects to wardrobe choices, she instructs the editor to make changes almost as if she were prompting an AI generator.
By the end of their discussion, the shows have been edited exactly to her liking, and she officially declares them "Kris Aquino-approved."
After building a decades-long career during the height of mainstream television, she returns in the era of digital technology following her hiatus—proving that she remains, indeed, the Queen of All Media.
