The entertainment industry has lost another promising actor, as reports confirmed the passing of Jung Eun-woo on February 11, 2026. While his cause of death has not been disclosed, his final Instagram post has drawn attention from supporters, sparking speculation about what may have happened.
A day before his passing, the Korean actor shared on Instagram images of Leslie Cheung and Amy Winehouse—two respected artists who both died suddenly. Cheung died in 2003 after falling from a hotel, while Winehouse passed away in 2011 due to accidental alcohol poisoning.
The caption translated to “Missing, envying, regretting,” followed by the letters “PIR.BG.” The carousel also included a photo of the actor himself.

Eun-woo, whose birth name was Jung Dong-jin, was born on April 10, 1986 in Incheon, South Korea. He was 39 years old at his time of passing.
He initially pursued basketball.
As a student, Eun-woo pursued basketball. Sadly, he had to abandon the sport due to an injury, as reported by The Sunday Guardian, and due to his relatively short stature. This led him to pivot to acting. He began learning by doing, and eventually learned more about the art from Dongguk University’s Department of Theater and Film.
His career spanned two decades.
2006 marks his debut in the entertainment industry through the KBS drama, Rounding Off 3. His other notable works include Welcome to Waikiki 2, Bride of the Sun, Five Fingers, and My Only One.
He was a promising actor.
His long career was marked by significant accolades. The SBS Drama Awards recognized him in 2012 through the New Star Award for his performances in Five Fingers and Bride of the Sun. The following year, he also garnered the Special Acting Award for Stranger.
His funeral will be held on February 13, 2026.
According to The Chosun Daily, Eun-woo’s funeral has been set up at Room 2 of the Special Section at the New Koryo Hospital Funeral Hall. The procession will take place at noon of the 13th of February 2026, with the burial at Byeokje Sunhwa Cemetery.
